A purposeful loss of privacy

Hi, every one.  My topic is Social Networking: A purposeful loss of privacy

Today, one of the most popular social networks can consider as face book.  There are 1.01 billion face book users which is the one seventh of the world population. Not surprisingly, because of increasing number of users, privacy concerns have been increasing.

Thus, I will do research on

·          How many people giving out their personal information to the public.

·         How others can see our profile even though we set privacy setting.

·          What are the most controversial lawsuits raising from Facebook these days.

·          How others know where you are and what you are doing?

·          What should we say on the Facebook, what shouldn’t.

·         Is there any other ways to protect our privacy?

In order to fully disclose those information, I will choose recent artilces and News regarding to Face book.

  1. Hello Jinghua,

I totally agree with the fact that with the merge of new media and social networking the problem of cyber privacy became a huge concern of many people. Very often The Internet users become victims datamining and other business processes without knowing how their personal information is being used.

  2. Your topic sounds very interesting. Since lots people put on their personal information on their social networking sites, such as blogs, twitters, and facebooks, checking an individual's background has become so easy. Even recruiters sometimes check students' facebook or related websites in order to know thme better.

  3. That is true. Many big companies use the information that they can retrieve from social networks for their potential employees' evaluation.
