New Media
I like to suggest a New Media that related to Fashion. Since I am interested in fashion, it is great to have a personal stylists social media. In this networking site, the clothing companies will post the recent trends and new arrivals of the fashion looks. Also, those who manage the site will be the fashion experts, designers or stylists so that they can also advise styles. For example, on the site, there are girls section, office looks section, party look section, price range section etc... and base on the category, users can see the pictures of new trends, popular items, best sellers, compare prices, comfortableness. More over, they can also match clothing from all the companies by themselves on the site using site applications. Moreover, users also can rate on the advised looks. Thus, we can shop using one website and can just stay home with out going every store. Moreover, it is great to select clothing from advised looks and also can match all the clothing from different stores before buying.

P2P file sharing
File sharing is the distributing of digital information such
as computer programs multimedia, documents or electronic books. The P2P is “
peer to peer” networking. The “peer to
peer” network enables computer hardware and software to function without special
service devices. In the article, “Online piracy and the emergence of new
business models” the author David Y. Choi, mentioned that there are file
sharing software applications like Kazza, Gnutella and BitTorrent which helps
the P2P clients applications to upload and download files such as music, videos
and documents over P2P network services.

Privacy and confidentiality
When people create their accounts on social
networking sites, they put a lot of personal information without careful
thinking. We voluntary put our personal
information such as genders, our full names, birthdates, addresses, name of
schools, phone numbers, political views, religious affiliations, personal
statements, lists of hobbies, social groups, lists of favorite things,
employment histories, email addresses, family members and the places where we
check in on Facebook. When people post their pictures on Facebook,
they tag their friends and place where they been to. Then, all the Facebook friends and also the
friends of friends who were tagged in the pictures will also know when and
where they were. Thus, whatever,
whenever, wherever, people post something on their Facebook, it will be seen by
many people which may mean hundreds of thousands you never know who is really
looking at our information. Moreover, a lot of people have many mutual
friends on their Facebook; thus, their personal life, such as their friends,
family, boyfriends or girlfriends and husbands or wives might be gossiping in
real life.
For
example, when people break up with their boyfriends or girlfriends, their
relationship status that they put on their Facebook will be seen by many of
their friends and it will also be gossiping in real life so that sometimes even
though some people who don't even really know you, will also know your personal
life. Thus, we are
giving too much private information to the social network.
Advice to Baruch College
Baruch college should use more advanced New media to improve life of students. It uses some of New media to make student life convenient, but the overall improvement, in my opinion, still is not enough. For example, many of clubs's information still posted on the walls and if we don't pay attention, it is hard to see all the information. Thus, instead of posting flyers on the wall, we should have a New media regarding Baruch club events so that everyone can get the information. A lot of time, even tough the club members spend a lot of time and money on important events, because it is hard to be announced by posting flyers on the wall, it is better to have a social media that all the clubs and students can connect to each other. However, if we have a New media that connect to all the students regarding all the events such as clubs events, it will make students much easier and better.

Creativity and New Media
I opened an account in Second life website and created an avatar. I chose a hot classic rock club as destination and also met friends there. I changed my outfits and accessories. I can also modifies the avatar for different styles based on where I go. I can use my own imaginations to create the character.
More over, I can choose other avatars as well or go for many other events.
Creativity
Creativity is a user-generated content that includes
various Media especially used in communications technologies. For examples, applications of news, gossips
and research which reflects the expansion of media production through new
technologies that are accessible and affordable to the general public. For the digital media technologies are
included social media, mobile phone photography, Wikis , blogging etc. One of
the most famous social technology sites Twitter is through modern communication
method with the objective of reaching wide followers. It relies on user-generated innovation more
than any other companies. According to
the article, “Twitters Serves Up Ideas From Its Flowers”, the Mr. William
mentioned that the Twitters inspired by users such new features like lists that
available to a small group now and to all the tweets written by Hollywood
celebrities or politicians. Lists will
help new users figure out whom to follow and help avid users filter their
overflowing streams of posts.
